Udel P-1700 polysulfone (PSU) is a tough, rigid, high-strength thermoplastic suitable for continuous use up to 300F (149C). It is resistant to oxidation and hydrolysis and withstands prolonged exposure to high temperatures and repeated sterilization. Udel P-1700 polysulfone is highly resistant to mineral acids, alkali and salt solutions. Resistance to detergents and hydrocarbon oils is good, but may be attacked by polar solvents such as ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons. These resins are also high resistant to degradation by gamma or electron beam radiation. Electrical properties of Udel P-1700 polysulfones are stable over a wide temperature range and after immersion in water or exposure to high humidity.

Udel P-3703 is a high-flow grade of polysulfone intended for injection molding applications with thin walls or long flow lengths. This grade has higher flow than Udel P-1700 and a slightly higher tendency to stress crack in some aggressive environments. Udel polysulfone is a tough, rigid, high-strength thermoplastic that maintains its properties at temperatures from -101C to 149C (-150F to 300F). The heat deflection temperature at 1.8 MPa (264 psi) is 174C (345F). For most purposes, this resin is suitable for continuous use up to 149C (300F). The material is resistant to oxidation and hydrolysis and withstands prolonged exposure to high temperatures and repeated sterilization. Udel polysulfone is highly resistant to mineral acids, alkali, and salt solutions. The resistance to detergents and hydrocarbon oils is good, but it will be attacked by polar solvents such as ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Electrical properties of Udel polysulfone are stable over a wide temperature range and after immersion in water or exposure to high humdity.

The Vydyne R533 Series of 33% glass fiber reinforced nylons are available in black and heat stabilized versions. They are general purpose, injection molding grades which are lubricated for good machine feed, flow and mold release. Vydyne R533 Series resins have tensile strength and modulus properties just below aluminum and zinc and can replace these metals in numerous applications due to an excellent balance of properties. Reduction in production costs, energy consumption, and part weight are key advantages of Vydyne glass reinforced Nylon 6,6 resins over aluminum and/or zinc die cast parts. Vydyne R533H is a heat stabilized grade, formulated to minimize the oxidative and thermal degradation of the nylon polymer when exposed to elevated temperatures for extended periods of time. Vydyne R533H provides improved retention of physical properties under exposure to long-term heat. The continuous operating use temperature is 275F and short-term peak temperatures as high as 475F.
